About Bayo

Bayo Onamade is a seasoned legal practitioner and certified governance and compliance professional with 16+ years of experience advising multinational corporations, particularly in the energy sector on complex legal, governance, compliance, and corporate matters.

He currently serves as Deputy Divisional Manager, Governance, Risk & Compliance at Oando Plc, a leading integrated energy company. In this role, Bayo is instrumental in shaping and implementing group-wide compliance programs, conducting internal investigations, and strengthening governance frameworks.

Bayo began his legal career at Dentons ACAS-Law, a top-tier Nigerian law firm, where he provided governance and company secretarial support to more than 30 oil and gas clients. He later joined Strachan Partners (now Candide-Johnson LP), where he led the firm’s Governance and Enterprise team and played a key role in several high-value corporate transactions. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators of Nigeria (ICSAN) and the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN), and a member of both the Chartered Institute of Directors Nigeria (IoD) and the Society of Corporate Compliance and Ethics (SCCE).

Bayo also serves as a Non-Executive Director at Energy Compliance Limited and All Arbitrates Limited.
